I’m embarrassed to say that I had never heard of Castle Island before Annie and Eric proposed it as the backdrop for this special time in their lives. It’s a very cool spot at the far Eastern end of South Boston, right across the channel from the airport. You can enjoy the ocean, take a dip in the bay there, go for a jog around a trail loop that goes around the bay, explore an old stone fort and pick up some good eats at Sullivan’s. One of the most distinguishing features though is the fact that all planes inbound for Boston line up and fly right over Castle Island just before touching down at Logan. This makes for an exciting experience as the planes scream across the bay over-head. We chose a beautiful, late summer morning for their engagement session and were gifted with beautiful weather and had a lot of fun exploring all the different nooks that Castle Island had to offer. Annie and Eric were really playful and fun, and you’ll see below that we stopped for a break so Annie could feed Eric a snack. Thanks for looking!
